So if you’re not one to stay up on hot European music trends, let me fill you in on dubstep. It’s a thumping, bass-line heavy dance music with an emphasis on offbeat samples. Many of the great hip-hop songs from the past few years have a dubstep producer behind them (M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes,” anyone?) And the genre is steadily becoming the rage music of choice for students across America.

That said, meet Rusko. A cockney born, London based producer; Rusko has been turning heads for several years now with his creative, slamming brand of dubstep. He has worked on music with American heavyhitters such as Rihanna and T.I., and rumors say that Britney Spears may be recruiting him for her next album.

But at the heart of it all, Rusko is a DJ, and a damn good one. Check out the video for his instant rage classic “Hold On,” and throw it up for London.
