SONG SPOTLIGHT: G.O.O.D. FRIDAY BY KANYE WEST

Redemption has never sounded sweeter-seriously. Kanye dropped this track last Friday as part of his “G.O.O.D. Friday” series of song leaks leading up to the “Good Ass Job” album release, and before the day was over, it was the most played song on my iPod.

For real, this song sounds like he went ahead and started work on “The College Dropout 2.” Forget the low-fi love ballads, forget the remixed Daft Punk, ‘Ye really seems to go back to the roots that got him famous on this one. The track is feature-heavy, as Charlie Wilson, Kid Cudi, Pusha T, and Common all get their clout on it, but with West’s deft song craftsmanship, it all flows together perfectly. Pusha brings the heat especially hard on his verse, and you know I gotta put on for any MC from Virginia.

Vibe to this song and celebrate the return of the humble king.
