ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: RYE RYE

As anyone who has watched The Wire can tell you, Baltimore is one of the hardest, most gutter cities in America. And like all hubs of struggle, it also has the potential to breed incredible art and culture.

Meet Rye Rye, a 20-year-old B-more native with a taste for spazzy beats and crazy hooks. As the first artist signed to M.I.A.’s N.E.E.T. label, there’s tons to expect from this spunky hip-hopper. She’s got a unique voice and an appreciation of the genre to boot.

Check her out on the Crookers-produced “Hip-Hop Changed,” which features a beat that’s anything but old-school, and vibe.
