CELEBRATING INSTAGRAM’S ACQUISITION AT COACHELLA
by levina | April 19, 2012
During the months, weeks, and finally days leading up to Coachella, we at LCA planned and agonized over how we could possibly see every set we wanted to without dropping out of real life for an entire month (two weeks to actually go to Coachella and two to recover), but we somehow made it through the weekend without missing too much. Check out our excessive Instagram use over the course of the weekend below:
We landed in LA on Wednesday and spent a night exploring the city before heading down to Palm Springs around two hours into Friday to catch a few winks of sleep before the festival kicked off.
On Friday, we spent a majority of our time in the Sahara tent which hosted most of the EDM headliners. We caught LA Riots, R3hab, Breakbot, SebastiAn, Feed Me, Alesso, and Afrojack before we headed over to the Coachella main stage for Swedish House Mafia at the end of the night. Throughout the day, we took breaks to peek at sets from M83, Frank Ocean, Neon India, Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, and, of course, the Black Keys.
We got to the festival a bit later on Day 2 after catching some rays with Kirill of KirillWasHere.com at the Nylon Magazine pool party. After taking a little dip, we headed into Indio for Childish Gambino, Zeds Dead, tUnE-yArDs, Martin Solveig, Sebastian Ingrosso, Flying Lotus, SBTRKT, A$AP Rocky, Miike Snow, Bon Iver, Radiohead, and Kaskade in the Sahara tent where we caught up with Karli Kloss.
After another exhausting day, we managed to rally just in time to make it to the third annual Neon Carnival for a few hours. Hosted by A|X Armani Exchange and T-Mobile, Neon Carnival is one of the most outrageous events California sees all year. We rode carnival rides and bumped cars with Paris Hilton, Gerard Butler, Jessica Szohr, and Josh Hutcherson until nearly 4AM when we could ride rides and bump cars no more.
